PREVIOUS TO THIS POINT OF FABRICATIONThe top and bottom caps for the legs have been welded and flush ground. The holes are to vent the grate to atmosphere. The horizontal pieces of pipe have been coped to fit around each leg, deeply 'V' cut, welded, and flush ground all around the joint. At this point the grate has been turned upside down and clamped into position for fitting of the radius drop ribs (formed 1-1/4" dia stock). The first one has been 'V' cut at its ends, and is about to be tacked into place. The rest of the drop ribs will be spaced from its position. All joints will be welded all around and then flush ground. |
